Don’t’ Be Satisfied with C’s, D’s or F’s
Mrs. Wallace is affectionately known as the Homework Hitler. I am sure that the name ranks right up there with some of the nicest names I have been called. However, I do not take offense to that name. My job as the Assistant Principal of Miltonvale Schools involves several responsibilities. Lo and behold not wanting students to fail is one of the responsibilities that I have taken on. In an earlier article that I submitted to the paper I mentioned that we have an after school program that I have encouraged students to attend. During this time students have the opportunity to work on assignments that they didn’t quite get finished in their regular class time. There is also the possibility of making up missed tests or other assignments due to being ill or absent for whatever reason. Parents, if you have been receiving eligibility letters I encourage you to contact your child’s teacher or teachers. Several faculty and staff have been actively involved after school in assisting the students. All of the Southern Cloud schools have an eligibility policy in place. Please see the handbook for more information pertaining to this or give me a call at school.
Thursday, March 4th is the end of the 3rd nine weeks and Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on the following Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Please make every effort to attend your child’s conference. If for some reason you are unable to attend the conference contact your child’s teacher and set up another time that will work for you and the teacher.
Spring Break will begin for students on Friday, March 12 through Friday, March 19. Enjoy this time and do some family activities. However, when school resumes on Monday, March 22 be prepared to work and finish the last nine weeks strong.
