A Message from the Principal

by David Blochlinger

October 01, 2009

Dear Parents and Students,

We’ve gotten off to a fast start to our school year. The teachers and students are settling in and the classrooms and hallways are as busy as ever. Our new teachers this year are Mrs. Julie Rheault (7-12 Math), and Mrs. Kayla Lange (5th -6th grade). They have both gotten to know the students and are fitting in really well with our staff and students at Glasco Schools. We also have additions to the kitchen staff this year. Mrs. JoLynn Keller and Mrs. Lisa Darnell have come on board and have done a fantastic job with breakfast and lunch. If you would like to come have lunch with your children, please notify the office 1 day in advance. The cost of an adult meal is $2.50. Last but not least, we have two new bus drivers this year. They are Kathy Davis (Simpson route) and Kristy Denio (Delphos route). Phone numbers for the drivers have been sent home with the children who ride the bus. If you did not receive the phone numbers, please contact the school and we will provide them. It is important to contact your bus driver to let them know when your children are not riding the bus.

We are seeing success in all of our sports programs. The H.S. boys and girls are competing well and making the hometown fans proud of them. The Junior High boys and girls are working hard and it is paying off for them as we have seen lots of improvement from the start of the season. Good Luck Warriors and Braves!!!!!

Reminder to Parents: Please stay in contact with the school. It seems that the students whose parents show interest in their student’s schoolwork, translates into better grades and more success. If your student receives a D or F letter from school, please contact the teacher or myself so that we can work together to help your child pull their grade up. I would also like to see better attendance at Parent/Teacher conferences. There is no better time to sit down with your child’s teacher and discuss ways that we can help your child succeed. I know some parents don’t feel anything will be accomplished at parent teacher conferences but I do think it sends a message to your child and the school. That you care about your child’s success! Conferences are scheduled for October 22nd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Please clear your schedule now and plan on attending!!!!
