2009 1A Sub-State VB Runner-Up
The Lady Warriors volleyball team traveled to Baileyville Saturday, October 24 for sub-state competition. In the first match the ladies met the Clifton-Clyde Eagles with a record of 16-18. The girls played well and the Eagles proved to be no match for the girls as they beat them in two games with scores of 25-21 and 25-22. With this win, the girls earned the privilege to play Centralia in the championship match. The ladies lost in two games with scores of 20-25 and 17-25. The girls played well again and fought hard in both matches. Missed serves hurt the Lady Warriors in the second game.
Stats for the day were:
Bryanna Cool- 9 kills and 1 ace serve with 4 points
Kylie Cool-8 kills and 1 ace serve with 9 points
Janae Perkins-6 kills, 5 assists and1 ace serve with 11 points
Carrie Brayton-3 kills and 5 points
Catherine Wallace-2 kills, 19 assists, 3 ace serves with 8
points
Shelby Schultz-1 ace serve with 4 points
Also coming in off the bench and doing a fine job were Alisha Castro and Kylee Cyr. The ladies played well as a team and proved that a game can not be won by one player alone.
