Game 1 vs. Thunder Ridge

The Warriors started off the NPL league tournament in an #8 vs. #9 match-up with the Longhorns from Thunder Ridge. The team struggled with transition defense on the night and giving up way to may lay-ups to the Longhorns and falling 34-53. The team had balanced scoring on the night with Gabe 12, Morgan 4, Jackson 6, Nevyn, 8, and Bryson 4. The boy’s had 23 turnovers which lead to the Longhorns playing their fast style of play and the Warriors did not recover. Gabe was a beast on the boards and ended with 12 rebounds. The loss put the Warriors in the losing side of the bracket in Tescott the rest of the week.

Game 2 vs. Chase

The second game of the NPL tournament the boy’s took on the Chase Kats. The Warriors got off to a quick start leading 35-11 at the break and going on to win the game 54-30. The team had balanced scoring with Nevyn 13, Morgan, Jackson and Bryson with 10, Gabe 8, and Levi 3. Gabe had a career high in rebounds with 15 and Nevyn had a career high in assists with 8. The team had way to many turnovers again but were able to overcome those turnovers with 12 steals. This game was truly a team win with people playing well on both sides of the ball shooting 54 percent from the field which was a bright spot for the Warriors.

Game 3 vs. Wilson

The Warriors let one slip away in the final quarter against the Wilson Dragons in the final game of the NPL tournament.  The Warriors had a 7 point lead going into the fourth quarter and Wilson outscored the Warriors 16 to 4 in the quarter to win the game 37-32. Nevyn led the team with 14 points followed by Jackson 12, Morgan 4 and Gabe 2.  The team ends the tournament on a down note and looks to bounce back Tuesday against a good Sylvan-Lucas team.
