SC Golfers Show Improvement

Rock Hills Inv. Results

The Southern Cloud Golf Team showed signs of improvement on Tuesday afternoon at the Rock Hills Invitational.  The Warriors A - Team finished in 5th place with a score of 379.  Individually, Grady Brayton shot an 86, Tyler Pennell shot a 90, David Leonard shot a 94 and Cy Schmidt shot a 109.

Rock Hills won the team competition with a 313, Tipton/St. John took 2nd with a 317, Lucas Leray was 3rd with a 340, Riley County took 4th with a 349, Southern Cloud took 5th with a 379, and Lakeside took 6th with a 409.  Andrew Horn of Rock Hills took 1st individually with a 71 (3 over par).  Matt Murrow of St. Johns /Tipton finished 1 shot back at 72.

The Warrior B-Team also played much better, with 3 players recieving medals.  Jake Ziolkowski finished 2nd with a 44, Kyle DeMars finished 3rd with a 45, and Cody Denio finished 8th with a 50.  Zach Duffy of Rock Hills won the B - Team individual title with a 43.  Other SC placings were: Justin Beals shot 59 for 16th, Feodora Gebhardt Shot a 67 for 20th place, Aaleb Miller Shot 76 for 24th place, and Tommy Pudge shot 83 for 27th place.

"I was really pleased with the effort of our kids today.  They did a nice job and did their best.  We were really happy to see a few of out kids medal and I was also happy that the A - Team showed a real improvement from the 1st meet at Beloit." Said Southern Cloud Coach Rick Hatfield.

Thursday,  the Warriors will be at home for the Southern Cloud Invitational that was rained out last week.  "We are really looking forward to hosting our own invitational, we hope to play well for the home town fans."  Said Coach Hatfield. "I want to add that I really appreciate all the work the people of Glasco and Miltonvale have put in, to get the courses ready for our invitational.  You people are really a God send.  Thanks for all your help."
