On a warm, windy afternoon in North Central Kansas, the Southern Cloud Jr. High girls competed well at the Washington County Track Meet held in Washington, KS. This was the first meet of the year and the girls were looking forward to setting a benchmark to improve upon for the rest of the season. The following are the places and times/distances for each division.
A-girls Division
Morgan Cool: 100 M Dash, 17.82; 5th Shot Put, 31’10”; Discus, 56’1”
Haylie Kingsley: 3200 M Run, 18:09.04; Shot Put 26’9 ¼”; Discus, 58’9 ½”
Kathleen McAlister: 800 M Run, 3:25.24; Shot Put, 22’2”; Discus, 52’9 ½”
Molly Schmidt: 6th Long Jump, 12’5 ½”; 5th Triple Jump, 26’1”
B-girls Division
Jacy Martin: 3rd-High Jump, 3’11”; Long Jump, 9’11”; 800 M Run, 3:09.00; 1600 M Run, 7:38.00
Grace Peters: 1st-100 M Hurdles, 18.94; 3rd-Long Jump, 13’1”;1st-400 M Dash, 1:10.02; 5th-200 M Dash, 32.26
Jocelyn Clements: Shot Put, 14’6 ¼”; Discus 31’2 ½”
Cheyenne Freeman: Long Jump, 7’3”; 100 M Dash, 19.95
