JH Lady Warriors Defeat Tescott

by Cathy Rice

September 04, 2018

Last Thursday the Southern Cloud JH traveled to Tescott to begin the fall sports season against the Trojans.  The Lady Warriors were anxious to begin the volleyball season.  The match came down to being able to return serves.  During the first game Georgia Rolph gained 9 points with her serving and during the second game Piper Mathews served 9 points.  Eighth graders Braya Darnall, Brianna Snively and Peyton Walters led the team with sets, passes and hits.  Seventh graders Teia Fowler and Kaycee Waite also stepped up to hit and set several times.  The ladies won the match in two games 25-13 and 25-15.

The B team also got a full match in before time expired.  The sixth and seventh grade girls won 2 consecutive games to finish the match before the football game.  The scores were 25-16 and 25-9.  Sixth graders Ashleen Davis, Bethany Demars and Anna Peterson all saw their first playing time ever.  Seventh grader Kaycee Waite led in serving with 12 total points for the match.

The JH will travel to Mankato this week to play Rock Hills.
