On Tuesday, February 23, the Lady Warriors traveled to Natoma to take on the Lady Tigers. The Lady Warriors got off to a great start taking a 14-5 first quarter lead.  The Lady Warriors came out in the second quarter subbing players in and out being outscored by Lady Tigers 10-9.  The Lady Warriors led at half time, 23-15. In the third quarter, the Lady Warriors doubled the Lady Tigers score for the quarter, 16-8; to find themselves ahead by 16 points going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Warriors owned the fourth quarter outscoring the Lady Tigers 21-8.  The Lady Warriors got the win 60-31.


Every girl got a lot of playing time and played hard all the way to the end.  The Lady Warriors shot 49% from the floor for the night, making 28 out of 57 tries. The Lady Warriors made only 4 out of 13 free throws for the night. The Lady Warriors had a season high 11 assists. The coaches feel good going into the post season.


Seniors Shealynn McMillian & Athina Liby led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 18 points each. Peyton Walters had 7 points, with Rael Beals, Hana Cool, & Jessica Thurston adding 4 points each. Braya Darnall had 3 points. Finishing out the scoring was Georgia Rolph with 2 points. Leading the way rebounding the basketball was Braya, with 6, followed by Athina, Peyton, and Rael with 3 rebounds each. Shea had 4 assists followed by Braya with 3 assists for the night. The Lady Warriors had 19 steals and only turned the ball over 12 times for the night.


The Lady Warriors will take on the Lady Trojans from Tescott on Thursday night, March 4, at the Wakefield Sub State.
