The Lady Warriors made the long road trip to Kensington to take on the number 6 ranked 1A girls team in the state on January 29th.The Lady Warriors and Lady Longhorns came out playing very good defense, but the Lady Longhorns took a 6-0 first quarter lead. The two teams continued to battle, with the Lady Warriors and the Lady Longhorns scoring 7 points each in the second quarter. This giving the Lady Longhorns a 6 point lead at halftime 13-7.  The Lady Warriors came out of the locker room to outscore the Lady Longhorns 11-10. The third quarter score ended with the Lady Longhorns leading by 5, 23-18. The fourth quarter started out good for the Lady Warriors, but soon ran out of gas; the Lady Longhorns outscored the Lady Warriors 22-9.  The final score was Lady Warriors 27 – Lady Longhorns 45. The Lady Warriors continued to work hard all the way to the end. The Lady Warriors struggled on the offensive end.


Leading the way scoring for the Lady Warriors was Athina Liby with 9 points followed by Shealynn McMillan with 5 points; Hana Cool & Peyton Walters had 4 points each.  Braya Darnall added another 3 points, while Rael Beals rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The Lady Warriors had 12 defensive rebounds for the night, with Shealynn and Hana having 4 apiece.


Up next will be the Clifton / Clyde Lady Eagles on February 2, 2021. The Lady Warriors will host the Chase Kats on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Glasco’s Lynch Gymnasium.
