SC Physical Education

I’m Don Long the new Physical Education teacher at Southern Cloud Schools.
I teach elementary and Jr. High PE in Miltonvale and Elementary, Jr. High, and 9th grade PE in Glasco
We have hit the ground running this school year in PE. The Kindergarten, first and second grade classes
have been working on different movement skills, as well as tossing and throwing activities. Meanwhile
The upper elementary grades have been working on soccer and or volleyball skills. Soccer helps to
Develop different skills including kicking, trapping, or stopping a ball with their feet and also different
Skills related movements such as speed and agility.
I really like to get the students outside as much as possible, depending on the weather. We have been
going outside almost daily in Miltonvale but not quite as much in Glasco. Hopefully as fall gets here I
will be able to get all the PE classes outside.
Jr. High PE has been playing some Frisbee golf as well as lifting weights and volleyball when it gets to
hot. Glasco 9th grade PE has also been spending time lifting weights, doing Frisbee golf , along with
studying nutrition in Health Class.
All student have been working hard in class and learning new skills. I am really enjoying my new job
at Southern Cloud Schools and I hope the students are all enjoying PE classes.
