Grades K, 1 & 2 Visit Firehouse

by Samantha Trembath

October 09, 2019

On Tuesday October 8, 2019 the kindergarten,1st, and 2nd grade got to go downtown and learn more about fire safety. Jason Rourke did an excellent job explaining to our students what their equipment is used for. We had lots of interesting questions like “Why don’t you have a fire pole?” and “Where is the Dalmatian?”. Jason also let the students shoot the fire house! That was quiet exciting for us all.

This is fire safety week and we have been reading books about fire fighters and safety. If your family does not have a fire escape plan, please figure one out soon and talk to your child about it. It is also helpful to practice it a few times so if (hopefully never) it happens they know what to do. It is always better to be prepared.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your community. These children are a wonderful bunch and I am excited to spend the rest of the year doing some great things!
