Yikes! Wow! Yippee! Whoa! Just to name a few interjections expressing the end of the first nine weeks and starting the second nine weeks already.  The English classes have been studying the parts of speech: most recently prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.  Each class is also reading a novel.  The seniors are reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.  Who is Frankenstein?  I bet he’s not who you think.  The juniors are listening to The Crucible by Arthur Miller.  In The Crucible, which takes place in 1692, the court system hangs those who tell the truth and sets free those who lie.  The sophomores are reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding which shows how quickly a society can fall apart when there is no structure.  The freshmen are just beginning to read To Kill A Mockingbird which has nothing to do with an actual bird.  Do you know what it is about?  The seventh and eighth graders are reading A Christmas Carol.  Scrooge is a lonely, sad man but by his choice.  As was for Scrooge, there are people in your life ready to love you if you let them.  May you have a blessed holiday season full of family and friends!
