SC Golf @ Riley County Invitational

Warrior Golfers Compete at Riley County Invitational

(Leonardville) Levi Cool shot an 85 for 14th place and Trenton Welch shot a 90 for 18th place for the Southern Cloud Warriors on Thursday evening in the Riley County Invitational.  Two pretty solid rounds for the SC golfers.  Though they didn’t metal they played well and fought “Old Mother Wind” to the best of their ability.

Simon Guyett and Mason Knudsen shot a 61 for 15th place in the “B” team scramble that they play every year at Riley County.  Both players improved on the day as they gain valuable experience.

“I was proud of our guys.  I think Leonardville is a hard course and our golfers played pretty well.  It was important for our “A” golfers to play this course because this is where state is going to be played in a couple of weeks (May 22, 2023). Both Levi and Trent will be playing in that event.” said Coach Rick Hatfield.

Lakeside continued its dominance of sand greens golf this year with another win on the day, shooting a 303.  St John’s took 2nd with a 316 and Riley County took 3rd with a 348.

Jace Cunningham shot a 71 to win the individual event, Carter Jermack took 2nd with a 73, and Tevin Winkel finished 3rd with a 74.

The Warriors will be at Tipton on Tuesday to round out the regular season.  The meet starts at 10:30 AM at Tipton Oaks Golf Course.
