Warriors Struggle Against the Panthers

On Tuesday, January 10, the Warriors played the first home game of the basketball season; they hosted the Pike Valley Panthers. The Warriors started out the game trailing after the first quarter 8-17. The second quarter, the Warriors decided to start playing and taking a 22-21 lead into half time. The Warriors and Panthers battled in the third quarter, giving the lead back to the Panthers, leading 37-35 after 3 quarters. The final quarter, the Warriors about ran out of players with two fouling out and another one with 4 fouls. The Panthers shot 11 free throws in the final quarter to get the win, 55-42. Leading the way were Kye Chase and Trenton Welch with 9 points each, Levi Cool and Dante Peterson with 8 points apiece and rounding out the scoring was Bryson Schmidt and Gus Rice added 4 more points each. Kye and Trenton were the Warriors top rebounders with 13 and 10 rebounds each. Levi and Dante had 4 and 3 assists, respectively.
