WARRIORS WIN

The Warriors hosted the Tescott Trojans on Friday, February 17, 2023. This was a rematch from the first game of the season when the Warriors lost 48-33. The Warriors took the game to the visiting Trojans. The Warriors came out playing very good and took an early lead. The Warriors were up 13-2 after the first quarter. The Warriors continued good play in the second quarter to add to the lead 29-7 at half time. The Warriors came out of the locker room and continued to add to the lead over the Tescott Trojans, outscoring them 13-7. The third quarter score ended with the Warriors up 28 points going into the final quarter, 42-14. The final quarter, the Trojans outscored the Warriors 13-7. The final score was Trojans 27 – Warriors 49. The Warriors continue to work hard on the defensive end and used some good team work on the offensive end.

Leading the way scoring for the Warriors was Levi Cool with 14 points followed closely by Kye Chase and Trenton Welch with 13 and 12 points each. Bryson Schmidt and Gus Rice scored 6 & 4 points, respectively. The Warriors owned the back boards with 29 rebounds, 10 offensive ones. Kye and Trenton had 8 and 7 rebounds, with Levi and Dante Peterson having 4 rebounds each. The Warriors only had 15 turnovers for the game. Gus had 5 assists followed by Trenton with 4.

With the win, this gave the Southern Cloud Warriors the number 1 seed going into the Kansas State High School Athletic Association Sub State Tournament at Burrton.

Next up will be the winner of the Peabody-Burns vs Junction City St. Xavier match up, our game with be played on March 3, 2023 at Burrton.
