Warriors Took On a Tough Pike Valley Panthers Team

The Panthers got off to a fast start, scoring the first time they touched the ball.  The Panthers scored two more times before the Warriors got on the board, taking a 22-6 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter was a repeat to the first. The Panthers scored 2 more times to take a 38-6 lead at half time. Third quarter the home team’s defense got tougher and only allowed 1 touchdown on a blocked punt. The third quarter ended; making it 46-6 Panther lead. The Warriors defense continued to play well in the fourth quarter. Then, to finally give up one more touchdown to end the game 52-6 Panther victory. With the loss the Warriors are 1-2. The Warriors had a tough time in the first half to corral Keaton Reeves; he ended the night with 129 yards on 14 carries.

Leading the charge on offense for the Warriors was Bryson Schmidt with 9 yards on 4 carries, but he had 77 yards on 4 catches. Dusty Mason had 7 yards on 7 carries for 4 yards. It was a tough night on the ground for the home town Southern Cloud Warriors. Zane Morris had his best night throwing the ball with 11 catches out of 21 attempts for 136 yards.  

The defense really struggled in the first half giving up some big plays to the Panthers. Leading the charge on defense was Dusty Mason with 9 solo tackles and 4 assists, followed closely by Gabe Rice with 7 solo tackles and 3 assists. Gabe also had 2 tackles for a loss. Dante Peterson had 7 tackles along with Levi Cool & Evan Custer having 6 tackles each. Ethan Kennedy had 4 and Kye Chase had 3 tackles. Bryson Schmidt ended the night with 2 tackles and rounding out the defense was Nick Millikan with 1.
