Warriors Struggle to Stop Grizzlies

by Cody Flinn

September 13, 2019

The second game of the season was a real eye opener for the Jr. Warriors as they faced the Rock Hills Grizzlies. Struggling to stop the running game of the Grizzlies made it a long night for Warriors who lost 52-6 at Lobaugh field on Thursday night. The tone of the game was set early when Rock Hills drove the field in their first possession after starting the game in Warrior territory on a good kick-off return.  Offensively the Warriors struggled to move the ball both on the ground and in the air, making it hard to move the chains and march down the field.

The Warriors did cut down on penalties from week one which was a bright spot, but found out that if we don’t play fundamental football and be mentally into every snap that we will struggle. The Warriors goal is to play with passion, intensity and focus every game and felt we didn’t have that effort against the Grizzlies.

The Warriors hope to get back to their winning ways next week as they host the Lakeside Knights at Lobaugh field in Miltonvale at 6pm.
