Tough Night in Tescott

by Rick Hatfield

September 04, 2020

It was a tough outing for the Southern Cloud Warriors on Thursday night as they fell to the Tescott Trojans 62 – 22 before a pretty good crowd considering the Corona Virus.  Fumbles were the real problem for the Warriors as they gave it away 6 times during the contest and Tescott made it pay off for points every time.  Makkin Harris rushed for 167 yards on just 9 carries and he scored 4 rushing touchdowns on the night to lead the Trojans.

The Warriors were led by Colton Walters with 23 rushes for 122 yards and all three of the Warrior touchdowns, both extra points for the Warriors were ran in by Kye Chase.

Colton Walters and Dashawn Peterson led the tackle chart with 5 each, Kye Chase had 4 tackles, Logan Haley and Brennon Copple had 3 each, and Shane Williams had no solo tackles but did have 2 assists.  Chase and Walters had a fumble recovery a piece.

“We have to quit fumbling the ball and we need to tackle better.  If we do those 2 things we can be competitive.  I thought we played hard and improved as the night went on, so there were some bright spots.” Said Coach Hatfield.

The Warriors will be on the road again next week as the take on the Rock Hills Grizzlies at Mankato at 6:00 PM.
