JH Volleyball Defeats Lincoln

by Cathy Rice

October 21, 2019

The JH Lady Warriors defeated the Lincoln Leopards in 2 of 3 games to win their last home match of the 2019 season.

The Leopards struggled with serve reception in the first game of the match.  Bethany Demars served the first 5 points to get the Warriors started.  Lincoln came back and the score remained close.  Piper Mathews served the last 4 points of the game for a Warrior win 25-16.  The second game the Warriors played better, but so did the Leopards.  Georgia Rolph led the Warriors serving 6 points.  The Warriors lost the second game 22-25.  The loss did not discourage the Warriors and in the third game they won 15-11.  The SC players have learned much over the season.  Kaycee Waite was all over the floor passing balls and getting hits.  Teia Fowler and Celsie Stein had some saves at the net as well as a few hits.

The B-team won in two games following the A-team win.  In this match Celsie Stein served 6 in a row, Kyndra Chase had some great plays at the net and two ace serves.  Natalie Barney served 8 points for the night, and Anna Peterson served the last two points to win the match.

The players have improved immensely from the beginning of the season.  They will compete in their league tournament next week to complete their season.
