English & Yearbook News - GHS

by Nathan Haefele

November 04, 2019

Almost all of the English classes in Glasco are starting new studies.  7th and 8th grade have just finished writing cause/effect and advantage/disadvantage papers.  7th grade is now starting to read different styles of writing while 8th grade is reading Z for Zachariah.  9th grade will be finishing The Odyssey soon.  It has been a long task, but they are sticking with it well.  10th and 11th grade just started reading novels today: All Quiet on the Western Front (10) and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.  12th grade is in Act 2 of Shakespeare’s play Macbeth.

The rest of the semester will be very busy with reading for all classes, but students will be exposed to different cultures and circumstances.  They will also be focusing on trying to find themselves in these texts.
